These legendary Husky Treats—originally created for the Hughson High School Husky Soccer Team, 1995 - 1996—combine Rice Krispies, Cocoa Pebbles, SKOR toffee bits, and peanut butter chips with melted marshmallows for an irresistible dessert bar. The precise measurements (using a food scale for consistency) ensure perfect results every time. Created by a dedicated recipe developer who insists on fresh marshmallows and authentic SKOR bits, these chewy, chocolatey treats feature multiple textures and flavors in every bite. Perfect for team celebrations or family gatherings!
SKOR Toffee Bits can be bought online in 3lb. bags, good for about 9 recipes. They aren't cheap; in September, 2024 I bought them on Ebay for $33 for 3 lbs. I haven't seen them in stores in years. You can use other toffee bits instead of the SKOR, but they are not nearly as good.
In order to maintain consistency, I use a food scale to weigh the ingredients, except for the butter where I go by the markings on the paper.
How large a microwave dish? The one I use is an old 4-qt Anchor-Hocking pot made for microwaves, and it's almost too small!
Store toffee bits at 65°F or below (but not frozen) in an airtight container.
Ingredients
3.5 oz. Rice Krispies (about 4 cups)
5 oz. Cocoa Pebbles (about 3 3/4 cups)
5 oz. SKOR Toffee Bits
5 oz. Reese's Peanut Butter Chips
17.5 oz. of FRESH Jet-Puffed Marshmallows (1 lb. bag plus 7 marshmallows)
3.4 oz. butter (7 TBS) (NOT MARGARINE!)

Directions

In a bag or other container, mix together everything but the marshmallows and the butter.
Set aside.
In a large, microwave dish (see comments), melt the butter, about 1 minute.
Add marshmallows, tossing generously so that they are well coated with the melted butter.
Microwave for about 3 minutes or until marshmallows have doubled in volume.
Don't overdo it or your treats will be in the break-your-teeth stage!
Stir dry ingredients into marshmallows, mixing thoroughly.
Spread evenly into a baking dish or onto a cookie sheet, which should be well coated with butter.
Coat your hands with butter and smooth out the top of the Husky Treats.
I also use a buttered rolling pin.
Allow to cool and then cut them up and serve.
Serving size says 16 2" squares, but I usually cut them in 1" squares.

Serving Size: Makes about 16 2" squares (not nearly enough!)

🙄 Help: Seriously? You don't need any help.
🌄 Why No Pictures: Well, there ARE some pictures, here and there. But to be honest, if you need pictures showing you how to stir something, you shouldn't be cooking! And really, I find them annoying when all I want to do is look at the recipe! Also, we haven't made most of these recipes. We occasionally take pictures of the finished product when we remember!
💯 Why There Are Recipe Numbers Missing: Well, it's like this. The recipe numbers are automatically generated by the database, always using a new number for a new recipe. Over the last 20 years many recipes, mostly test recipes, have been added and then deleted, leaving only their memory and their number behind. And there was also a lot of weird stuff going on in the beginning, which messed up the order. In terms of date added, the first one is #6, then #4, #9, #10, #4, #718!!!, #2, and finally #1. Just the way databases and poor programmers work!
