My father, J. Carl Ferguson, Jr., once made this for a successful church pledge drive at Lafayette Orinda (California) Presbyterian Church. It was a lot of chickens. When getting ready to announce it at the front of the congregation, he told the minister he was going to start out by saying, "Have you ever been up to your ass in chickens?" (He did not...I don't think.)

I added Instant Pot directions. Make sure you check your timing for the amount and weight of the chicken breasts you use.

Ingredients
2 chicken halves or 3 chicken breasts
1 TBS. vegetable oil
1/2 lemon, sliced
1/2 large onion, sliced
1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. Lawrey's seasoning salt

Directions
Combine everything but the chicken to make a marinade.
Add chicken halves and marinate at least two hours, turning once to make sure marinade gets on both sides.
Grill over hot coals or under broiler.

INSTANT POT UPDATE
I tried this with my Instant Pot with great results using chicken breasts.
I had 3 BIG chicken breasts which totaled about 2.8 lbs.
Once the chicken marinated, I dumped everything into the instant pot and set it for 12 minutes on pressure cook.
When it was done I only let it self vent for about a minute before manually venting it.
Meanwhile, I had started my grill and let it heat up.
I moved the breasts right from the pot to the grill, which was not easy as they were almost fall-apart tender.
Got them to a nice finish on the grill.
While it was grilling, I scooped out as much of the lemons and onions as I could get, leaving just the liquid in the pot.
I turned the pot to sautรฉ and added a rouxย of butter and flour to thicken the sauce a bit.
Once the chicken was ready and the sauce had thickened, I strained the sauce onto the chicken by ladling it through a fine mess strainer.
It was awesome.

๐Ÿ™„ Help: Seriously? You don't need any help.
๐ŸŒ„ Why No Pictures: Well, there ARE some pictures, here and there. But to be honest, if you need pictures showing you how to stir something, you shouldn't be cooking! And really, I find them annoying when all I want to do is look at the recipe! Also, we haven't made most of these recipes. We occasionally take pictures of the finished product when we remember!
๐Ÿ’ฏ Why There Are Recipe Numbers Missing: Well, it's like this. The recipe numbers are automatically generated by the database, always using a new number for a new recipe. Over the last 20 years many recipes, mostly test recipes, have been added and then deleted, leaving only their memory and their number behind. And there was also a lot of weird stuff going on in the beginning, which messed up the order. In terms of date added, the first one is #6, then #4, #9, #10, #4, #718!!!, #2, and finally #1. Just the way databases and poor programmers work!
