Ingredients

Filling:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar	1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. cinnamon	1 TBS. melted butter
1 TBS. flour
Batter:
1 cup sugar	1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups flour	2 eggs - separated
2 tsp. baking powder	1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk	grated peel of 1 lemon and 1 orange

Directions

Mix together filling ingredients and set aside.
For batter, begin by sifting together the flour, salt and baking powder.
Set aside.
Cream butter, add sugar, add yolks.
Mix in flour mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
Pour 4/5 into a greased 9 x 9 pan.
Sprinkle filling over batter, then top with remaining batter.
Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
