Well, fans, I am in “The Big Apple”! And loving it!
Flight left SFO on time and arrived at JFK slightly ahead of schedule. My bags were about the 5th ones off, and very fast, so I was calling my ride service about 10 minutes after getting off the plane, and arrive at the Radio City Apartments by about 4:30!! All in all, a great journey.
A slight hitch at the RCA; the first room they gave me was 8 floors above a restaurant, and the odors made me nauseous. I found this out after I used the toilet. They were gracious enough to change my room, even though the had no maids on duty to clean the toilet (which wasn’t that dirty anyway). So I took the paper seal off the one in my new room and put it on the toilet in the old room, and no one is the wiser but me. But if you are in room 8A tonight, my apologies!
Anyway, I love the RCA! The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is just really cool, even if the elevators are just slow enough that I about piss myself every time I return to the room. There is something about my returning to my hotel room that gets the old bladder working overtime!
Uhmm, anyway, I decided not to be adventurous my first night in town, so I went to Juniors for a cup of matzoh ball soup and an egg salad sandwich. Good as usual, although their egg salad needs some oomph.
And my first show was tonight. Alex, Gabe (Liz as Mrs. W.) Review later, but it was a great show. Lots of fun.
Nice chat after the show with Greg J. and talked with Alex Ko, who did not realize that tomorrow is his 1 year anniversary. Had a quick visit with Taylor and a bit longer one with Hugsy over coffee. They were a surprise addition to the audience tonight.
Now I am back at the RCA and ready for bed.
A sad note: no Native American on the sidewalk. Dunno if it is just the weather, or if he is gone for good. Best wishes to him wherever he is.
