Today is the day I had a night free, my only one this trip. But I am getting ahead of myself.
So today I learned a little more about the Radio City Apartments. First, it has 13 floors, not including the basement. However, the 13th floor is called the penthouse. I went up there, hoping it would be a penthouse. In stead, on one side, are just more rooms and on the other side, above the section of the hotel where my room is, was a roof. So my side only has 12 floors.
I also learned that the RCA is at least 96 years old, and possibly older. There are pictures of it in the second floor hallway dating back to 1914, but the guys at the desk were not sure how much older it is.
I found the back stairway, which like the main stairway ends on the second floor, which connect to the ground floor with a grand staircase.
And I encountered some people who were going to the basement; people that did not work there. I did not ask why. Perhaps tomorrow I shall explore.

The main stairwell from the penthouse floor. I nearly passed out from vertigo taking this one.
I also learned why there were so many cops around the Times Square area. It was because they had just sentenced the Times Square bomber and wanted to show a strong presence in case of retaliation attacks.
So today I did a lot of gift shopping, buying more tacky shit to carry home to people who will pretend gratitude. Well, my great-nieces and -nephews will appreciate the gifts at least.
And I went and had a nice chicken shish-kabob from a street cart for lunch.
Minor incident at the matinee show today. Someone was in the wrong seat, which caused a bit of embarrassment. That someone was me. Just one row off. The other person was quite gracious. I am an idiot!
After the matinee show, I met up with Cary (Clue) for a lovely pizza at John’s, where I have never been. Quite tasty and Clue is always wonderful company.
We went to see the Pop Tarts store. They are doing a trial run until January to see if it is worth doing permanently. Let’s see. There were three employees standing around and almost nobody in there, and one of the three little pub tables that they had there was dirty. It is a silly thing and a really bad idea.
Then we walked around for a bit and I dropped Clue off at the bus station. He is nursing a cold, so he went home to rest up for tomorrow and Friday!
I am not back in my hotel room, having an early evening in and resting up for the rest of the Billython.
The weather is still nice, as it always is when Dave comes to town!
A review is coming.
