I have been home for 5 days. Seems like forever. How quickly the thrill of the adventure fades.
Luckily, the memories do not fade so quickly.
As with any vacation, some things did not go as planned. I do not handle those things well, and on this occasion I handled them particularly gracelessly, for which I am truly ashamed. I was fortunate to be around so many loving and forgiving friends, who suffered my peccadilloes with more kindness than I ever deserved.
But enough about Friday! ![]()
So, on to the roundup.
Shows I would PAY to see again, in order:
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
The Book of Mormon
Billy Elliot (especially if they get some exciting new kids, not that the current ones are not great, but I really want to see some new, stunning dancers)
Shows I would see again if someone else paid:
How to Succeed (especially if someone really cool was starring in it)
Shows I would see again if someone else paid, bought dinner, and at least offered to have sex with me after:
Wicked
Shows I did not see but probably should:
Phantom of the Opera
The Lion King
Jerusalem (though it is in a limited engagement and will be gone when I return)
Really good meals:
Juniors for breakfast (surprised?)
Goat cheese and bacon grilled cheese sandwich at Vinyl (awesome!)
Moonrock Diner
Grilled chicken skewers from a street cart
Dallas BBQ (I was impressed that a place like that which has huger volume and relatively low prices could put out some very good food)
Any meal with Thommie Retter as company.
