Well, I am getting tired and so this review is going to be shorter than most.
When I started this week, I had different levels of expectation for the shows that I was scheduled to see.
Wicked – Was supposed to be great, which it was, but not great enough to see over and over.
How to Succeed – Expected to be let down and left absolutely thrilled. Fighting Priscilla for best show of the week.
Priscilla – Had no expectations and was just blown away by how much I enjoyed it.
BETM – Know too much to really have any expectations one way or the other. Not really thrilled with everything I saw, but was fun.
And then there is Book of Mormon.
This show was so hyped up by reviews and my friends, there was no way it could have lived up to the hype. It didn’t.
Do not get me wrong.
It was fabulously produced and amazingly funny. I did not laugh as much as people said I would, but I laughed a lot. Also, it had great music, great singing and great acting. Should be a lot of Tony awards coming to that show.
So go see it, knowing that it is enormously crude and abotu as politically incorrect as one can get.
