So here I am at the RCA, my home-away-from-home in New York City.
Today was filled with WINS & FAILS:
WIN: Got up in time for 4 AM shuttle to SFO.
FAIL: Forgot that I was flying business class, so I had my bags checked and was through security in about 5 minutes, leaving me over 2 hours to kill.
WIN: Flight took off early.
FAIL: 110 outlet kept spitting out my iPhone charger plug.
WIN: Free Twitter on flight.
FAIL: I paid $7.95 for wi-fi for flight and then only used Twitter. Dumb!
WIN: Arrived at JFK nearly 1 hour early.
FAIL: My bag took one trip around conveyor before I recognized it.
FAIL: Fucking Dial7, which I have used for my car service every trip, somehow did not register my confirmed pickup, so when they did send someone it was as a new reservation for $6 more than my printed confirmation stated. We are in negotiations.
WIN: I arrived at my hotel about 5 minutes after my scheduled flight arrival time.
FAIL: The RCA did not have any of my preferred rooms in the front of the building. My choices were a room in the back, which I do not like because the odors from the restaurants below come in through the window; or a smoking room on the second floor on the street. I chose the smoking room.
FAIL: Did not notice that there is a dangerous step up from the room floor to the bathroom, which I am sure I will trip on many times. This same rise goes out about a foot from the wall in the bathroom; I have already stumbled on it a couple of times and nearly gone flying out the window.
WIN: I am on the second floor, which reduces the chances of dying by fire.
WIN: Duane Reade sells Febreeze, so the room smells better; it was really not that smelly to begin with.
WIN: Placed a hand towel across step up to bathroom so that I can see it better.
WIN: I AM HERE!

FAIL: not being in NYC with friends.
WIN: living vicariously through Dave.
FAIL: won’t be present at ‘shake shack’ when friend find out how amazing shakes are…
