round steak
flour
salt and pepper
lean bacon
onion
2 bay leaves
allspice
Meat tenderizer may be used in place of salt.

Cut strips of round steak 2 inches wide and about 8 inches long. Roll in flour, salt and pepper. If desired, on each strip place 1/2 slice of lean bacon and 1 slice of onion. Make into tight rolls and secure with toothpicks. Brown in hot drippings on all sides.
Steam in dutch oven for at least 1 hour. Baste occasionally, adding enough water to make rich gravy. 2 bay leaves and a few allspice should be added
while simmering. Meat tenderizer may be used in place of salt.
